  yup - person has done nothing wrong.

  but they have called a judicial and from what i can tell refusing to wear a facemask is bothering them more than the person not turning up.. so is this new light?

  BluesBrother they have known for years that this person questoned everything. But they have only now started the df process.

  Finding no fault with this one, other than not complying with WT doctrine/being concerned about findings of the Aus Royal Commission, one elder latched onto the refusal to wear a face mask - which would have endangered NO ONE because this one will not be attending the judicial.

  That's the stupid thing about all this.

  Living by Jesus Christ's standards is important to Christians. Love your neighbour involves keeping them safe. Not living by Jesus' standards is what the elders are doing. By doing this they are attempting to cause separation and division.

  i was watching an old disney movie from my childhood in the early 80's.

  the movie 'pete's dragon' was made in the late 70's i stopped however upon on scene.

  Yes - when they threw me out for sticking to the word of the prophets Daniel, Jeremiah and Ezekiel they weren't upset that I was gone. No instead they went of and held a party where they put on a show did there own full on version of this song. The elder who marked me played the greatest showman.

  Overrated - the 2 inch paint brush is pretty well known. I think it came from a video that was shown in the halls.
  

  Drearyweather - yes they want to hold an in-person judicial because that is what they want to do. All wearing face masks. But it's not going to happen.

  Although this person has done nothing wrong, except question Watchtower doctrine and their unchristian practices, one of the elders got rattled when the "publisher" (or ex-publisher) said they would not wear a face mask, let alone turn up. That's how I understand it.

  Steel - I think the elder shared your viewpoint and felt that face mask wearing gave him the moral high ground.
  

  The person rendered the elders silent over and over again by using the scriptures appropriately.

  Remember the to need to paint with a 2 inch paint brush if the elder tells you? Well refusing to wear a face mask, let alone not turning up to your judicial is a double whammy as far as someone is concerned.

  They have found no fault with this person. The person is willing to be corrected if they find any fault. So far - zero faults identified by body of elders. Except of course you know they'll find fault with not going along with Watchtower rules.
  

  Kramer - surely you know enough about these people to know that something as petty as this does go on in WT-land. Yes I am being a bit jokey about it when I say 'is this new light' - no it isn't. But it is their usual petty making of rules - picking out gnats while gulping down camels and preparing to df someone who has done nothing wrong. Except tell them they are wrong on certain scriptural points and highlight some of their less than Christian actions.

  I have never understood the attitude that wants people dead. Ok I know you can get deeply fed and sickened by others but bottom line is God loved the world so much he gave his only-begotten son, in order that everyone excercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

  And Jesus taught that God wants MERCY not sacrifice. He came to call sinners not righteous people. (Matthew 9:13)

  I remember sitting with another publisher and looking out on a lot of people. The publisher told me they looked forward to seeing all these people die at Armageddon. I was horrified to hear someone express such a callous view and I said so. I wondered what motivated them to go out on the ministry.
  

  After all if you were the parent of a wreckless son or daughter and that one die because of their own folly, even though you never apporved their lifestyle, you, as the parent would never want them dead. But you would yearn for them to stop behaving in a way that was putting them in danger.
  

  Oh well, I got disfellowshipped in the end.
